Fair Trade Gold Jewellery

At Daniel Christopher we think responsibly sourcing our materials is of the utmost importance. As well as all of our diamonds being sourced in accordance to the Kimberley Process, we are also able to make our jewellery in Fair Trade gold.

Fairtrade Gold Jewellery

What is Fairtrade Gold?

Fairtrade Certified Gold is the independent ethical certification system for gold.

Buying Fairtrade gold means you can make a tangible difference to the gold miners, their families & their communities. By buying Fairtrade gold it means you know the small-scale and artisanal miners were paid a fair price, which goes a long way to giving them financial security.

The mining communities also receive additional money to invest in building their future through education, medical care and environmental projects.

What is different about Fairtrade Gold?

Nothing. Fairtrade gold is the same as regular gold, only that you know where it has come from, and that the people mining for it are cared for a looked after financially by being paid a fair price for their endeavours.

How much does Fairtrade gold cost?

It can vary, but in general the cost of your ring will be roughly 10-20% more, meaning an increase of around £50-150 for a solitaire ring.

Sourcing and making our jewellery ethically is important to us at Daniel Christopher and while it is not for everyone, we recommend having your jewellery made with the best materials possible, Fairtrade gold being one of these.
